McAfee
Usability Testing
2021
Background
McAfee felt their website needed a design refresh focused on modernizing the site to be on par with competitors, improving site searchability and updating their communication strategy. Leveraging their prior research, I partnered with the team to conduct usability testing on website mockups to dig intro areas of concern and observe tasks to be completed. While in sessions I aimed to understand their customers' preferences for webpage designs by observing their behaviors as they browsed through the site and periodically asked questions around expectations, desired information and probed at facial cues.
Usability sessions brought to light that customers preferred website similarities for security software in order to easily compare offerings. I was able to outline what key information must be present for customer to make decisions, and inform the team that design (visuals, color, font) will impact perceptions of professionalism and trust.
