Background

Completed a project for Nordstrom's EVP GMM of Kids, VP of Merchandise Planning and VP of Corporate Merchandise Manager, evaluating the positioning and offering of kid's apparel. The team wanted to better understand how to align their offers with customer trends and customer needs, in order to support their kid's apparel strategy through 2020.

 

In my research, I combined point-of-sale (POS) and NPD data with a community forum project to view a full picture of the customer experience. This allowed me to identify key trends in consumer behavior and preferences, as well as areas of potential improvement. As a result I was able to discover trends that indicated the need for kids basics, as well as the desire for solid sets. I also found that while occasion wear continued to drive visits, parents wanted to be able to get everything they need in one place.
